Interval Timer for HIIT & Training

Our interval timer is designed for High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Tabata, and any workout that alternates between work and rest periods. With precise audio cues and visual indicators, you can focus entirely on your exercise while the timer manages your intervals.

What Is HIIT?

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an exercise strategy that alternates short bursts of intense activity with periods of rest or low-intensity movement. Research has shown that HIIT can burn 25-30% more calories than traditional exercise in the same time period, improve cardiovascular health, increase metabolic rate for hours after exercise, and deliver significant fitness gains in as little as 15-20 minutes per session.

Built-In Workout Presets

  • Tabata Protocol: 20 seconds of maximum-effort work followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated for 8 rounds (4 minutes total). Developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata, this protocol has been scientifically proven to improve both aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
  • Classic HIIT: 30 seconds of high-intensity work followed by 15 seconds of rest for 10 rounds. A versatile protocol suitable for most fitness levels that allows time for more complex movements.
  • 30-30 Protocol: Equal 30-second work and rest periods for 8 rounds. The generous rest time makes this ideal for beginners building their endurance base.

Tips for Effective Interval Training

Always warm up for 5-10 minutes before starting any HIIT session. During work intervals, push yourself to around 80-90% of your maximum effort. Use rest periods for active recovery (walking, light movement) rather than complete stillness. Stay hydrated throughout your workout. Allow 48 hours between intense HIIT sessions for proper recovery. Cool down with stretching after your final round.
